LITE is an exhibition of works by Dave Hilliard.

For the second residency of WALL, Dave Hilliard presents eight paintings that make up a series of work which scrutinise how a recent change in contemporary society has affected how people are able to construct identities and connections.

Interested in how people, particularly men, construct their identities and make connections with others, Dave’s paintings challenge the viewer to consider how identity and consumption of brands is an ubiquitous way for people to understand who they are and their place in the world.

The most popular style of beer in the world is light lager-style beer with a variety of brands owned and produced by a handful of corporations. Looking at this as well as incorporating other brands and consumerist culture, Dave presents a body of work that confronts these ideas in a space which is quite the opposite.

Background
WALL is a three month residency project organised by Big Shop Friday and Blackened Sun Brewing Co.

WALL is about supporting local independents. Whether that’s art, beer, food or music. Working in collaboration like this will help build audiences, bridges and hopefully new opportunities to help grow your business or creative practice.

If you would like to know more or find out about our next call-out get in touch here.

WALL is supported with funding from MK Community Foundation.
